It Is All About The Base

Christmas is coming!! 🎉🎉🎉our family is so excited to have our first ever christmas tree in singapore.. we had a mini tree last time but it does not count as it does not have the feel as much as a tree with proper height.. So we bought this tree last sat and tried to set it up on sun and mon.. what took it so long?!.. the biggest issue was we can't make the tree stood straight as it is supposed to.. several tries it leaned backward, another few tries it was slanted to the right.. so frustrating because of 2 things: 1) our expectation is so high as this is our first christmas tree but we could not make it right 2) we hate to dissapoint kakak gide as he kept talking about decorating the tree.. After several battle scars trying to tighten the base we realized that the issue was with the base itself.. it did not serve as firm foundation for the tree to stand straight and tall.. thus we decided to come back to the shop.. cut the drama short (the store's real opening hours differs

Life Counting Questions

Recently gide got this lcd pad from his neighbor friend's birthday goodie bag (thank you khalif and tante putri!!).. we started to use this pad to have math quiz where we give each other math problems to be solved.. p.s. if you are a parent yourself you know that how we need to be creative in engaging our kids to learn.. gide is very happy when he could answer the problem that i gave him.. of course i started with easy one like 1+1 or 2+2 and so on.. he would be puzzled if i give him tough questions (according to him anyway) like 1 million + 1 million or 2 million + 2 million 😂🤣😂🤣 oh dear gide if only you know solving these questions are as simple as like solving 1 apple + 1 apple or 2 apple + 2 apple.. another thing which makes him very happy is when he thinks that he could give me very hard question (again, this is according to him).. he would smile wildly expecting i would not be able to give solution to the problem and end up dissapointed that i could solve the problem in l

God Knows What I Need

I'll give thanks to God when I don't have enough.. 'cause He is more than enough.. and He knows what I need.. I'll Give Thanks Housefires, Kirby Kaple this song has been speaking to my life and blessed me in the process.. but this morning i was reminded that the needs that we are talking here is not just about financial or material needs.. i also need love. grace. wisdom. joy. peace. strength. annointing. direction. miracles. favor. salvation for family members. courage. faith. encouragement. appreciation. confidence. acknowledgement. friendship. self belief. forgiveness. feeling good. assurance. clear plan. promotion. feeling understood. and so much more could be added to this list.. in all these needs I'll give thanks to God when I don't have enough 'cause He is more than enough and He knows what I need.. what do you need today?.. And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Chri

Think Talk Pray

What is our response when we are facing challenges?.. our natural instinct might lead us to thinking and talking about it.. it is perfectly normal until we start to overthink and/or overtalk.. 1) thinking and talking about the challenges will not change anything.. we will not solve the issue just by thinking and talking about it over and over again.. what they do is to magnify the challenge which brings worry and fear into the equation.. the more we think or talk about the problem the more worried we become.. worry and peace do not come together..  2) if only we pray as much as we think or talk about the problem.. when we raise our thanksgiving and petition to God we are acknowledging that He is in control.. it will release peace and calmness knowing that He will come through as He has done it again and again in the past.. when worry does not change anything prayer changes everything!!.. 3) what if God does not answer our prayer?.. we might not get the answer we want but at least pray

Fighting Chance

The most popular sentence in our home is this very simple two worder "Uel, no!!". This sentence could be said in different tones from the lower register until the high register depending on the situation and the mood of the speaker. Uel is our 1 year old who has started to walk. Once he has gained that confidence he would walk non stop here and there all over the house. As per other kids his age he is so curious about things ranging from electronics like TV, router, laptop to usual ordinary things like mirror, garbage bin (yes, i know what?!), and hanger. To keep it short he touches everything that he wants. One thing that i realize the more we say no to one and other acts the more he would try to touch it. my wife Gil always says that this is the nature of 1 year old who is curious about everything. Although he might know that it is wrong (he always wiggles his pointer when we say Uel no no no) he keeps doing it as if he has no control over his urge. I realize this is actual

Project Lego Crane

Allow me to introduce project lego crane.. ona bought gide this gift for his birthday.. gide and daddy will spend 10 mins each night to work on the lego before going to bed.. it took us a week to follow the instructions on how to turn multiple parts with various sizes into a complete crane.. from this project i got reminded on several things about dream and purpose from God.. 1) there is a reason why God does not reveal every single detail for His plan in our lives upfront.. i learned this when the first time i opened the lego box and realize that there are so many parts involved and so many steps needed to get that dream crane up and running.. honestly speaking at that time i felt like telling gide maybe he should do it with his mommy @gillsunshine 😁😁 that many details will distract and discourage us as His dream and purpose for us is way bigger than ourselves.. it will take so many parts and so many steps to get there.. 2) everybody wants to live God's dream but not everyone wa
